Maintenance Technician

Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
  • Must be courteous, polite and efficient at all times
  • Preparation of vacant units for occupancy including coordination of third party vendors
  • Estimate time and extent of repairs
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Prepare vacant apartments for new residents
  • Maintain material and supply inventory
  • Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
  • Available to respond to emergency calls after hours

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use computer software programs
  • Experience in maintenance or other related fields
  • Ability and skills in using maintenance tools and equipment such as drills, saws, voltage meters, drain cleaner, snow blowers, etc.
  • HVAC, electrical and plumbing knowledge
  • EPA Certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints
  • Ability to apply common sense
  • Ability to adjust work load and shift priorities when required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Possess small tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Physically capable of lifting at least 50 pounds
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
